NEW ALL GIRLS FORKHORN 1 JULY 18-23, 2010 (limit 30)
TUITION: $400 / $360 for MDHA Members | AGES: 11-16
Sponsored by the Minnsota Deer Hunters Association, this camp provides participants with basic knowledge necessary to become an ethical, responsible, and successful deer hunter. To understand our prey, we study white-tailed deer biology, habits, habitat needs. Campers then learn hunting skills including marksmanship and field to feast game care and preparation. Students that do not yet have their MN DNR Firearms Safety Certificate (required to hunt in MN) will be trained by DNR Firearms Safety instructors and can test to receive their certificate as part of the camp experience.
Forkhorn II
SESSION 1: JULY 25-30, 2010 (limit 30) | SESSION 2: AUGUST 1-6, 2010
TUITION: $400 / $360 for MDHA Members | AGES: 12-16
PREREQUISITE: FORKHORN I CAMP
Sponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, this advanced hunting camp is for youth who have received their MN DNR Firearms Safety Certificate. It is a more intensive camp that takes students beyond the basic white-tailed deer hunting and offers training in bow hunting, map and compass skills, specialty hunting techniques, marksmanship training, ethical hunting practices, and game care and preparation. Students will be certified in the Minnesota Bowhunter Education Program (MBEP) as part of the camp.

AUGUST 8-13, 2010
TUITION: $400 / $360 for MDHA Members | AGES: 13-16
PREREQUISITE: FORKHORN II CAMP
Sponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association, this advanced camp is a sampler covering several hutning and outdoor disciplines. It includes topics such as: Minnesota's wildlife heritage, small game, big game, waterfowl, planning the hunt, and shotgun wingshooting techniques. Campers also learn advanced first aid, wilderness survival, advanced game tracking, wild edibles, fair chase philosophy, and more.
